House of Wolves DLC Level Updates

Strikes

Weeklies and Nightfall can only be done once per character per week.  Weekly rewards nest, so if you do the 32 weekly first you get 9 coins.  But if you do the 26 weekly at 3 coins, you will then only get 6 coins for doing the 32 in the same week on the same character.  The other Vanguard playlist strikes can be done as many times as you like each week, with the only limitation of weekly (100) and total Vanguard marks (200).

Name Level Rep Marks Coins Other
Eagle 16 10 0 0
Viper 20 12 2 0
Wolf 22 14 3 0
Tiger 24 25 6 0
Roc 26 25 6 0
Dragon 28 25 6 0 Engram
Weekly 26 150 3 3
Weekly 30 250 6 6
Weekly 32 400 10 9
Nightfall 32 0 0 0 Exotic

Armor

Armor light levels determine your character's level.  4 pieces of 30 light armor gets you to level 30.  4 pieces of level 42 armor gets you to 34.  Mixing and maxing will have you fill somewhere in the middle.  Right now, 21 total Radiant Shards per armor are probably the most difficult material to obtain.  Fastest way to max level 34 is through 1 ascended Exotic, 1 armor core from the level 32 Prison of Elders challenge, and most likely 2 ascended Legendary pieces.

Type Light Level Cost Shards Mats
VoG Raid 30 30 RNG Drop 21 Ascendant 80
CE Raid 36 32 RNG Drop 21 Radiant 80
Tower Vendor 36-42 32-34 75-120 Marks 1 Etheric for 42 30
Reef Vendor 42 34 0 1 Armor Core 15
HoW Exotic 42 34 13 Coins 1 Exotic 15

Endgame Content

Levels are min and max game levels.  You can be up to 4 levels below and still enter the game type, albeit with far reduced damage.

Content Min Max
Vault of Glass 26 30
Crota's End 30 33
Prison of Elders 28 35

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Clan night tonight. 9pm PT. X1 Destiny.

Archon priest. Rainbow nightfall. Void weekly. No light switch.

SHOTGUN ALL THE THINGS.

I'm going to ask that nobody start Nightfalls until everybody is ready at 9pm. Also, have your Skype up and ready to go. We will be racing Nightfalls tonight! Rules:
- I will designate team captains
- Captains will round robin pick their fireteams
- If we have an uneven team, the captain(s) of the team(s) with only 2 Guardians will get to pick first
- Fireteams will queue up on planet in the spawn area, so that difference in warp times don't affect the race
- Winning team is the one that melts Archon first

Iron Banner Weekend

Bada Bing plunged into some Crucible this weekend, and much fun and laughter was had.  Here's a quick view of the weekend's matches:

(Click for big)

Some highlights:
  • We are good at inviting in friends who are really good
  • From the (small) sample size, our best Iron Banner Control map is Rusted Lands (100% wins) and our worst map is Shores of Time (0% wins).  That may not mean a lot, because there aren't that many games to make a truly fair comparison.
  • Twilight Gap was played the most often, 2X more than the next closest map
  • GT and OD had the best in-clan K/D ratios, tied at 1.07
  • Sentinel X had the highest in-clan single game score at 4,615 - which is lower than any of our friends' average scores (our friends are really good)

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Clan night tonight. 9pm PT. X1 Destiny.

Brune TSLJ will be hosting the party. Listen.

This week is Omnigul, no burn.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Clan night tonight. 9pm PT. X1 Destiny.

Void Nexus Nightfall.  No burn on weekly.  Nightfalls will quick off right at 9pm.  Make sure you have a Skype account setup in case we overflow our 8 person party limit.

Clan business items this week:

  • Download #IDARB. It's free with gold for Xbox One this month.  #IDARB is a chaotic 8-player eSport jumping future arena ball game. Create characters, teams, team logos, tournaments, even your theme music, in this highly customizable experience complete with disruptive “hashbombs” which dynamically change the game itself via Twitch and Twitter!
  • Xur is in the tower from Friday 1am until Sunday 1am Pacific Time, every weekend.  Seriously people, it doesn't change.
We are raiding a lot these days.  I am extremely impressed at how capable this clan has gotten, and the team work we have developed.  As a clan, we're in about the top 10% of the world's Destiny player base.  Not bad for a bunch of filthy casuals.  Many thanks to cubert for raid leading, and consistently blazing the trail in finding and developing raid strategies.

That said, Bada Bing will always have an inclusive policy, so I will always try and make activities available for everybody to have fun.  Here's some general thoughts:
  • Have fun.  This is more important to me than anything else.  I ask everybody to participate in game modes that are fun to YOU, and also to excuse yourself if it's not fun anymore.  There is way more stuff to do in this game than anybody has time for, we can always find something else to do.
  • Play to your level.  Character and game mode level is obvious, you should have your character leveled up to the game mode that you're playing.  But also play to your skill level.  Maximizing your guns and armor, carrying plenty of heavy ammo synthesis, going to Tower to get the proper gear - are all things that will make the game most enjoyable for you and your Fireteam.  If you're not prepared for a game mode, be honest and upfront about it, and excuse yourself.  If the Fireteam asks you to join anyway, they know what they are signing up for, and won't be disappointed if they need to help you a bit.
  • Pop your LFG cherry.  Yes, this game is most fun with your friends.  However, getting everybody's schedules to align is hard and limiting.  Get on destinylfg.net and destinylfg.com and find strangers to play with.  Yes, it's a bit like on-line dating.  Yes, there are some bad experiences.  Yes, it can sometimes be disheartening.  But there's more good experiences than bad out there.  And it's a great way to get Nightfalls, Weeklies, Raids - even patrols, bounties and farming done on your own - when the clan isn't around.  Every time you find somebody you had fun with, add them as a friend.  Remember that this entire clan used to be internet strangers.
